Guangji is a young Chinese man who works at the Ajiichi Chinese Restaurant in Dobuita as an apprentice under Duoji Tao on his father's recommendation. He originally came from Guangdong in China where his father also owns a restaurant, but Guangji wanted to study the art abroad so he could also go sightseeing. He can often be seen out on deliveries or hanging around drinks machines because he doesn't have money on him to get a drink, this is likely where Ryo will first run into Guangji. He learns Japanese from Xiuyu Xia, the owner of the Russiya China Shop. Ryo, after receiving a letter that was addressed to his father in Chinese, is told to ask Guangji about it as the kanji are a little unusual and Guangji is good with kanji. However, even Guangji can't figure out what the letter says and recommends he go and see Xiuya Xia.
Guangji also has a brother who looks exactly like him named Guangyan. Ryo can meet him in Hong Kong wandering around the top floor of the Yan Tin Apartments in the South Carmain Quarter, Wan Chai.
